Pen C Li is Vice President, Product Marketing at Goertek based in Santa Clara, USA. Goertek is the market leader in acoustics, virtual reality, and mobile accessories/components. In this role, he is responsible for leading Goertek’s product marketing and business development in the market segments of VR/AR, Acoustics, Robotics, Drones, Cameras, and Wearables.
Before joining Goertek, Pen worked at Nvidia where he lead the business development of harnessing the GPU computing power with Deep Learning software frameworks such as Tensorflow. Prior to Nvidia, he was the Director of Product Marketing at Micron where he oversaw more than $4Billion revenue of products in the Mobile market.
While at Philips Semiconductor in 2001, Pen started the 802.11n Study Group at IEEE. In the following years, he contributed extensively in the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communications technology to boost WiFi’s maximum data rate from 54Mbps to 600 Mbps. In January 2016, WiFi Alliance estimated more than 12 billion devices had shipped with 802.11n since its inception.
Pen is the inventor of more than 10 U.S. patents in wireless communications. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and a MBA from Tepper School at Carnegie-Mellon University.
