Jerry Shen has served as CEO since January of 2008. His leadership and passion for technology have been instrumental in developing some of the most innovative products ever created by ASUS.
Prior to becoming CEO, Mr. Shen held the role of President of the ASUS Open Optimal Platform division for 5 years, overseeing the motherboard, graphics card and desktop PC engineering teams. Under his leadership, ASUS became the No. 1 motherboard brand in the world.
In 2006, Mr. Shen worked with ASUS Chairman Jonney Shih in guiding the design and production of the revolutionary ASUS Eee PC, a high-quality netbook that sparked the beginning of a global mobile computing era. In 2011, Mr. Shen oversaw development of the innovative ASUS Transformer Pad, which established an entirely new category of devices known today as 2-in-1 PCs.
Building on the success of the Transformer Pad, ASUS entered into a partnership with Google in 2012 to build the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 project was led by Mr. Shen, and soon after its release ASUS became the No. 3 best-selling tablet brand in the world.
More recently, Mr. Shen guided the development and worldwide launch of the flagship ASUS smartphone series, ZenFone. The ZenFone is designed to offer empowering luxury to everyone. Within two years of its introduction in 2014, ASUS became a leading global smartphone brand.
Mr. Shen’s dedication and perseverance have helped ASUS consistently reach new heights in innovation. As an engineer and business leader, he has always shown a strong commitment to serving the interests of the public while seeking and implementing creative solutions that benefit the consumer. In 2009, he was named one of the top 25 Innovators in Technology by Entrepreneur magazine. Today, his passion for technology continues to inspire the creation of leading-edge ASUS products and services that help deliver effortless and joyful digital lives for people everywhere.
