New opportunities with MulteFire, including Neutral hosts and IOT

Day 3

MulteFire is a new LTE-based air-interface that operates solely in unlicensed spectrum, which enables it to offer the best of both worlds — LTE-like performance with Wi-Fi-like deployment simplicity. MulteFire will bring LTE benefits to a larger ecosystem with new deployment scenarios, such as enhanced local broadband, neutral hosts for mobile network offload, and IoT verticals. MulteFire is suitable for any spectrum that requires over-the-air spectrum sharing, e.g., CBRS 3.5 GHz in USA (GAA) and global 5 GHz. The combination of high performing LTE, ease of deployment and self-organizing networks will enable small-cell deployments in more locations for more services.
